Tiny Trim

What better way to start the year off then getting a fresh new fade?!  Today we gave Kate her very first trim!  We plopped her down in her bumbo and evened out the back and the sides around her ears!  She doesn't have a ton of hair but it is growing, so we thought it would be best to keep it trimmed and tidy and not look like we are raising some sort of ragamuffin.  Yes, I said ragamuffin.

Kate wonders what exactly I will be doing with the scissors I
have in my hand.

We tell her that we are going to trim her hair and she points to her hair!

BEFORE: Pushing the 'party in the back' look.

A juice box and a pen provide the perfect distraction so that I can
get into deep concentration for the trim.

AFTER: A new 'do!
Sorry, this was the best after photo I got.  The juice was gone
and we didn't have a paper for Kate to write on...

Trust me, it's amazing how much a little trim can make such a big difference!  And, since I'm a sentimental freak, I had to save a little clipping of her trimmed hair.  I've put it with her baby book, but I'm not entirely sure that this counts as her first hair cut yet.  Perhaps this little lock of hair is the first hair cut place holder.

...Or perhaps it will forever have a spot as the first trim.

Either way, our little girlie has a new 'do!  And we think she looks lovely!
