First [Official] Hair Cut

Brian and I both got our hair cut recently so we decided that we would take Kate to get hers cut as well!  We are all going to be so fresh and so clean, clean for Little Sister's debut!  We've never taken Kate to an official place to get her haircut until today.

I did a little snippity snipping when she was about 15 months old, and then I trimmed her bangs a few months later and more or less butchered them cut them way too short, so I decided no more scissor using on hair for me.  (Note to self: wet hair dries...and when it dries, it is not the same length as it was when it was wet.  #momfail)

We went to a place called Cookie Cutters where they specialize in children's haircuts.  They had a play area and several different "seats" you could choose from.  Kate chose the horse and did such a good job!  She was a bit shy and unsure, but it was quick and she just sat there as the lady with the scissors trimmed and snipped and shaped.  Plus the "surprise" and lollipop at the end was extra icing on top!

Playing on the playset prior to her cut!

Such a beauty!

The horse is the winning seat!

Slightly unsure, but very brave.

Getting her cloak on!
(Please disregard the child in the background getting her hair
washed.  That looks like torture...)

Taking the reigns!

Before - front.

Before - back.

Kate witnesses hair washing torture...Yeah, I'm sure getting her
to come back to this place is going to be easy...Riiiiggghhttt.

A little snip here, a little snip there!  And five minutes later...

Voila!  Admiring her new do!

[She] got an aesthetically pleasing configuration of hair that
humans go nuts over!  Thanks, Scuttle!

Going to pick out a "surprise"!

A little red plastic watch that Kate cared less
about.  #nicetrycookiecutters

And a lollipop!  She did such a good job!

Brian and I were both so proud at what a great job Kate did.  Having a stranger spritz your hair down and then snip it with scissors is not the most exciting thing when you are two going on three but Kate did a fantastic job!

Well done, you!  We love you, Kate!
