On Friday night, we headed over to Mary and Tom's to help prepare desserts for the Easter meal at his Aunt Ruth's and Uncle Mike's house. After we had a fantastic dinner, we got started on the sugar cookies. While they were cooling, we made rice krispy treats in the shape of flowers and little lamb balls. (Side note/funny story on the lamb balls: as we were making the rice krispy treats balls, I was thinking of Easter. We were making these for Easter, mind you. As I was thinking of Easter, little lamby lambs came into my head. As we were making rice krispy treat balls, I envisioned little puffs of fluffy lamb. Hence, I named our creation lamb balls. Oddly enough, Tom, who was within ear shot but not right next to Mary and me, overheard and thought I said man balls! I'll admit, that is awfully close to lamb balls. And for the rest of the night it was a running joke! I would just like to state for the record and in my defense that I had Easter on the brain. It was innocent really! Perhaps I should blame this on Tom losing his hearing in his old age?! Nah, I'll take the blame on this one!)
Anyway, when we were done with the RKT's, our sugar cookies were nice and cool and ready for some decorating! We made the 'piping' frosting - the frosting that outlines the cookie, and we made the 'flooding' frosting - the frosting that goes in the center of the cookie that is held in place by the piping frosting around the edges. (When I agreed to this little cookie making soiree, I had no idea what I was getting into. This was the first time I had ever heard of 'piping' and 'flooding'. I thought frosting was just called...frosting. Fortunately, Mary, being the wonderful teacher she is, showed us the ropes and taught me, Brian, and Tom how to use both types of frosting. Thanks, Mary!) We had an absolute blast decorating our cookies! We were up til about 12:30 am decorating, and even Brian and Tom decided to get in on the action! The cookies, of course, were a hit at the Easter party! Making professional, gourmet cookies like we did was so much fun that we decided we would make it a tradition...for other holidays and special occasions, of course!
Then, on Saturday, Brian and I dyed some Easter eggs. It was pretty uneventful really. The eggs were white and then they were colorful, but it's just one of those Easter traditions you can't overlook.
Today we headed to Brian's Aunt Ruth's house for a lovely early Easter dinner and then to Brian's Dad's house for a lovely later Easter dinner. I think you could've rolled us both home! The meals were both delicious, and it was wonderful to celebrate the holiday with so many familiar faces!
We hope you enjoy our web album above! Happy Easter!
Glad you had such a good time! We also had a lot of fun, laughing, visting and gorging ourselves. Jack looks hilarious in this pic. He and Bun are starting to look alike. Teehee

Oh my gosh, Brian''s basket looks a lot like the basket I had when I was a kid. I think it was either my mom's or grandmother's. OX Gram
