Carpet Diem

We have been steadily preparing the nursery for our sweet girl, and today we just received our 8 x 10 ivory rug!  We are extremely happy with the purchase as well.  The rug looks fantastic with the dark furniture and the colors that we will be adding to the room are really going to pop!  Plus, this rug will provide many, many years of lounging on the floor book reading, learning, playing, talking, and hanging with Jack!

Before: No rug.

Quality control.

Jack wonders what in tarnation Brian is doing with that rug as
he brings it upstairs.

And then he supervises the opening of the rug.

And tests the loungin' factor with the nearest thing to chew
which happened to be my flip flop.  Lovely.

It passes the lounge test.

Together we test the play/meditation factor.
And they also both pass the test!

I grew up with carpet in my bedroom - in the majority of my parent's house, come to think of it.  I think carpet adds such a nice, warm touch to a bedroom.  The rug is cozy and comfy and waiting patiently for the soft touch of little hands and toes!  We couldn't be happier with the progress of our baby girl's room!

In addition, we hit thirty weeks today!!  That means, in just over or under ten weeks, we will be meeting our daughter.  Our daughter!  That is so incredible!  We just can't believe that we are nearing our due date so quickly.  It is still very exciting and a little terrifying at the same time.  All of the unknowns are what make the situation "terrifying" - how will we know it's "time"?  What will labor feel like?  What will it be like?  How long will it take to adjust to choppy sleep?  How will we manage our time?  Etc.  You know - the things that you just don't know about because you've just never done them before.

Please don't get me wrong though.  While we have our reservations about the "unknown", we are also very optimistic and very much looking forward to the future with our family.  We know there will be adjustments, life is ever changing.  We will do our best to prepare ourselves for the change and roll with the punches on the items that we aren't prepared for!  Bring it on, Life!

So, we just received our new rug for our little girl's room, we are well on our way to a completed nursery, and we are more or less than ten weeks away from meeting our little bambino!  Today, more than ever, we should seize the day.

And, of course, seize the carpet too!
