...it was 68 degrees outside today! SIXTY-EIGHT! The average temperature in Columbus, OH around this time of year is 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Instead of late December, it feels more like late May, which has us all wondering: is it really Christmas?!
Since the temperature is forecasted to be in the forties tomorrow and twenties on Christmas Eve, we have decided that it is indeed Christmas - just a very warm fluke Christmas - which is perfect because we celebrated our first Christmas today with the family!
We all met at Brian's Mom's house for our annual Christmas with the kids! Mary and Tom's kids, that is! The two Eckenrode families and the two Hendricks families gathered up all of their offspring and headed of to Mimi and Papaw's for our Christmas get together. All in all, there ended up being one set of grandparents, four sets of parents, and eight grandchildren! Now that is a healthy Christmas!
There were bags and boxes and bins full of gifts! Surprises that came out of the garage and an extra special visit and gift from Santa himself! In addition, we were surrounded by good food, good people, and happiness throughout the house! It was truly a successful Christmas and a great start to the holiday festivities!
Christmas kick-off! |
On behalf of all of us, thank you to Mary and Tom for hosting such a fabulous get together and for showering us all, especially our kiddos, with mountains of gifts! We truly appreciate your generosity...and your house! Love you guys! Merry Christmas!
