Spring Photos

We received photos back from Kate's Spring portraits and Sibling portraits.  These are Kate's last preschool photos.  The next photos she gets will be school photos in Kindergarten.  So here is what I want to remember about these:

-Kate rarely wears her hair like this.  But she wanted to today.
-She looks so little in this photo, but somehow she seems so big to me.
-She is SO excited to start Kindergarten and I am SO excited for summer!
-She 100% put her outfit together, and Maya's too.  Sometimes they want to match and sometimes they don't.
-They love each other more than anything.  Kate is the absolute best thing in Maya's world and their sweet hugs goodbye and hello at school each morning seriously tug on my heart strings.

Time, please slow down.

Also, Kate really wants to be a part of her friend Mia's

First Year Photos

When Brian and I got married, our photographer took several images of us in the wildflower area at The Park of Roses.  It was a perfect day in early August 2010, and there were bright yellow wildflowers everywhere.  It was beautiful!

August 6, 2010

Fast forward just over two years and you will find us back in the same area.  October of 2012.  Brian and I decided to take some of our own maternity photos there to capture our 9-month bump before our baby debut.

September 30, 2012

Fast forward one more year and you will find us there again, only this time you will find us with the sweetest little one year old in tow!

Sweetest AND cutest!
October 30, 2013.

This happened to be by complete chance!  Since we had yet to have professional photos taken of Kate, we decided for her one year birthday that we would have some taken.  Our photographer friend suggested we meet at The Park of Roses, so that is what we did.  Little did we know, his intention was to shoot entirely in the wildflower area!  (I'm beginning to think we should just adopt this garden as our own since we've seemed to [so far] capture all of our milestone life events together here!)

We were completely up for the shoot and did not leave disappointed!  Prior to the shoot, Brian and Tom cut "ones" out of wood and Brian and I painted them in several bright colors.  We picked up balloons to match our painted "ones" and there we had our set up!  It was ingenious, and not our idea at all.  It was all our photographer's!

The shoot was very quick.  Kate was an angel, and the images that we captured that day are nothing short of AMAZING!

Kate is one!

Look at that face!

So adorable!

:)

You can't help but smile!

(Check out the whole lot here.)

Our baby is one.  Even though the year has flown by, it means the world to us that we were able to capture this tiny moment.  It will always hold a special place in our hearts.  Thank you, Monty!

Our Little Bump

Brian and I both wanted to capture our little bump before we officially celebrated our little girl's debut.  Mainly to capture yet another amazing moment in our lives but also to be able to show our sweet baby what life was like before we met her outside of the womb.

Brian did his very best with the Big Dog camera that we have and after an early evening of shooting, we he captured some amazing moments.  Brian did a fantastic job!  I know his little girl is going to be so proud of him.  She is going to look up to him, admire his strength and preserverance, and strive to follow in his footsteps.  I have no doubt.  He is going to be an amazing Daddy.

I hope you enjoy our bump view as much as we enjoyed taking the photos:

Don't Stop Believin'

While the girls were busy gabbing and attending the shower this past weekend, Brian had the opportunity to shoot his very first FANCAM show - a Journey concert right outside of Cleveland, OH!

Just a few short weeks ago, Brian attended a training in Atlanta, GA along with eight other photographers around the nation.  They learned the technique of shooting 360 degrees of a concert, sporting event, live show, etc, with the intent of combining the latest technology with social media.  If you've attended the event, you are actually able to tag yourself precisely where you were sitting/standing/dancing!  (Unless, of course, you happen to be using the loo or grabbing a hot dog when the photo was being taken!)

Nevertheless, Brian's little girl and I are so proud of him.  We are excited for the directions that these photo shoots take him and we are excited to watch him learn and grow with his passion.

Check out the final product here!

We ♥ you, Bri!

The Urban Era

Just under a year ago, Brian released his ninth licensed print!

Today, Brian's tenth licensed print just drizz-opped!  (Yes, I said "drizz-opped".)  I can definitely speak for him and me when I say we are very proud of his preserverance, enthusiasm, and dedication not only to photography but to the Buckeyes themselves.

Check out the new print here:

Keep up the good work, Bri!

Oh, and GO BUCKS!  (I can't forget them, of course!)

Europe in HDR

As many of you know, and for those of you that don't know, Brian is an avid photographer.  He loves learning new techniques about photographing images, people, stadiums, etc, and I highly doubt he will ever tire of the hobby.  I think it's a great hobby!  There are some unbelievable photos out there and someone has to take them, right?!  Plus, I tend to like photography too, and it gives me the opportunity to play around with some high tech equipment that I usually wouldn't be able to use.  Typically, my handy dandy point and shoot Canon PowerShot SD1400 IS Digital Elph tucked away in one of my pockets is enough to keep me happy, but every now and then I get a wild hair and want to shoot with the Big Dog.  (Brian's professional camera...)

Knowing that we were headed to an incredibly beautiful part of the world, ah hem, Europe, we decided that not only would we pack our pocket cameras for our quick photo ops but we would also bring the Big Dog for our more sophisticated, artsy, professional shots.  And we got some unbelievable shots!

Currently, Brian has been exploring HDR(I), or High Dynamic Range Imaging.  It is his latest and greatest endeavour on the camera front, and creates a very dramatic, almost unreal, image using three individual photographs taken at various settings.  Some of the HDR photos that he created are amazing!  You have to see for yourself!  Click on the image below to explore some of our favs from European Vacation through the Big Dog!

Sneak Peak!

(We may have checked our photographer's blog once or twice while we were in Mexico to see if they had posted any preview pictures from our lovely wedding day. Even though we were confident that they would text or email us before they did, or while they were doing it to let us know it was happening, we figured we'd still check...just to make sure!)

Our photographers were absolutely amazing, and that's putting it lightly. Kim and Eric are a dynamic duo. They are extremely professional, extremely talented and creative, and they are just so awesome to work with. Kim mainly worked with me, and Eric mainly worked with Brian (at least while we were getting ready), so it was just lovely to have another awesome woman to laugh with, joke with, and capture our special day! (I'm sure Brian thinks it was awesome to have another guy to bond with, too...well, maybe!) Anyway, Picture the Love completely outdid themselves with their photographic expertise. They surprised us both by having a preview ready for us to view only 10 days after our wedding. Incredible!

Check out the love below:

Picture the Love

We have our photographer (well, photographers!), and we are nothing short of super excited to have the opportunity to work with them! Kim and Eric, our photographers, seem like awesome people and their work is simply incredible. They definitely have an eye for photography, and we look forward to Picture the Love capturing our special day.

So we figured since we knocked out our photographers, we should just knock out our videographers as well. (Not literally, of course!) We spoke to and viewed quite a few wedding videos and could not find anything we liked, until we came across Indy Productions. Indy Productions is based out of the Atlanta area, and are not your run of the mill videographers. Their work is breathtaking, and they really capture the emotions of the day. Check Indy Productions out, and tell Dustin we sent you!
