Hippity! Hoppity! It's Easter!

We kicked off Easter Day this year with a little Easter surprise for Daddy and an Easter basket hidden for Kate.  I start looking for fun, inexpensive Easter basket items for Kate a couple months in advance of Easter so that I have a good mix of items in her basket and it doesn't end up being all sweets.

This year was no exception!

Hidden safely in the first cabinet to the left!
(And straight on til morning...)

We've not really talked about the Easter Bunny, per say, in our house.  I've let Kate help me make and hide Brian's Easter surprises, so I would imagine one of these times things are going to click and she will realize that her parents are the ones making and hiding the Easter baskets she receives.  Nonetheless, I grew up finding an Easter basket and Brian and I both enjoy the tradition of having her find one too!

Since Kate and I were the first ones up, we talked about hiding Brian's Easter surprise first!

Kate decided we'd hide it on the couch.

Behind these three pillows.

Safe and sound!

Double checking that it is still there!

While we waited for Daddy to get up, we put on our Belle dress, complete with Elsa earrings and a tiara and played with our race track cars!

Being a princess and being a tunnel for a race track is
tough work, but somebody's gotta do it!

When Daddy awoke, Kate and I were eager for him to find his surprise!  Note the progression in these photos!  Even though some are blurry, they are quintessential Kate and I love them!

When we asked Daddy where he should look, Kate immediately
hopped up onto the couch and said, 'here'!

Peeking behind the pillows/safely guarding the loot!

He found it!

Like a little sprite bouncing away!

And a big Easter hug per Daddy's request!

Next up, it was Kate's turn to find her Easter surprise!  She definitely didn't realize that she was going to be getting an Easter surprise too!  It took us a solid five minutes to convince her to put her toys down for a moment and come look for her Easter basket!

The big reveal:

She looked a bit shell shocked at first but thoroughly enjoyed all the fixins of her Easter basket AND got to taste cotton candy for the first time!

Our little Easter beauty!

Light up, twirly Easter eggs?!  Yes, please!

Jack is eyeing that cotton candy!

A new bead necklace!

And Minnie and Princess Sofia stamps!

Testing out the jelly beans!

And trying some cotton candy!  Yum!

Easter 2015 loot!

Including this little pink bunny that was not pictured
in the above photo.

Jack even tries the new necklaces on!

These two!

In this year's Easter basket we included an Easter book, a tulip tic-tac-toe game, a Frozen t-shirt, a grow-your-own sunflower kit, Tinkerbelle stickers, sunglasses, and a cup (she's a favorite around these parts), cotton candy, bubbles, jelly beans, flashy light up eggs, bead necklaces, glitter, stamps, a soft little bunny, and some glitter gak!

Can someone tell me where the time has gone?!

We ended our Easter day with an early dinner at Brian's Aunt's house complete with an Easter egg hunt!

Easter eggs galore!

And Kate was the sole player!

Just filling our bucket!

Egg hunter!

We hope you and yours had a wonderful Easter as well!
